Leighton Park School is proud to be in partnership with the Astra School Centred Initial Teacher Training provider (SCITT), an innovative, Ofsted Outstanding and non-profit organisation which provides outstanding training opportunities for new entrants into the teaching profession.The Astra SCITT is part of the Astra Teaching School Hub, accredited by the DfE as one of only 87 Hubs in the country to offer the ‘golden thread’ of training and support for teachers at all stages of their career.

Astra is currently recruiting Primary and Secondary trainees in the following subjects/phases across over 50 local selective, non-selective, primary and special schools: Art; Biology; Business; Economics with Business; Chemistry; Computer Science; Drama; English; Geography; History; Maths; Modern Foreign Languages; Music; PE; Physics; RE; Primary; Primary with Maths.  Some part time routes are also available.

Head of Learning Support – SENDCo
from September 2024

This is an exciting opportunity for an effective and ambitious SENDCo who is committed to raising standards of student performance through positively impacting on teaching and learning.

As well as being an excellent classroom practitioner who can teach across all age ranges, you should be passionate about supporting all students by developing and supporting classroom practice so that all students make rapid rates of progress. Working with wider stakeholders, you will also strategically review and plan support for individual students to ensure their needs are met to enable them to make progress and to achieve their best outcome.

This is a demanding but incredibly rewarding role. You will be unwavering in your belief that with the right support and quality teaching, all students can succeed. We are looking for an excellent practitioner, who is committed to making a real difference to the lives of young people. You will ideally already be in post as a SENDCo and have the extensive knowledge and training associated with this role. A willingness to participate in co-curricular activities is also required.

Physics Teacher

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher of Physics, to join a dynamic and popular department from September 2024. This post would suit an experienced practitioner or a newly qualified teacher who is keen to develop. We have an exciting part-time opportunity for a Domestic Assistants to join our hardworking and popular Domestic Department as soon as possible. Minibus Drivers
Variable hours including evenings and weekends

We are looking for enthusiastic and committed Minibus Drivers, able to work individually or as part of a team, reliable and trustworthy.

You will be required to drive a School minibus as required for fixtures and trips, therefore flexibility with working hours is a must. Experience of driving a minibus or large vehicle is essential, and previous experience of working with children would be advantageous. The role will require regular maintenance checks on the vehicles, as well as working within health and safety and other guidelines. You must be security conscious at all times and have a professional manner.
