Coming Soon - Adult and Child Classes

Due to start in February 2012 we will be offering term time adult and child classes. Classes will be have no more than 12 persons and will last for 30 minues. Classes will be taught by our experienced ASA Level 2 teachers who will guide you and your child through a wide range of water confidence activities. Classes will cost £7. Please contact us for further information.

OFSTED Inspection - October 2011
Leighton Park continues to review and make improvements on the day-to-day running of the activities and acheived Outstanding and Good in all areas. A copy of the inspection report dated October 2011 is available on the Administration Desk, on our website and on the official OFSTED website.

NEW* Swim School
Our new swim school caters for children aged from 3½ and upwards and runs throughout all term times. Classes have no more than 6 children, instucted by 1 teacher and up to 2 water helpers. 

NEW* Swim School Academy
Swim School Academy is new to Leighton Park, we are providing the opportunity for children of all ages and abilities to work in small skill specific groups. There may be areas of your child’s swimming which is weaker than others e.g. kicking or backstroke, this is the ideal opportunity to develop these skills.

Children will be in a group no larger than 4 and have a 30 minute lesson on the skill specified by you. Our ASA Level 2 qualified instructors will structure these personal lessons to tailor each individual’s requirements. We can cater for children from non swimmers to level 12. This activity costs £7 per session.

Laser Quest (All Ages)
During the Spring Half Term we will be offering Laser Quest as an extra activity available for all ages. It will all take place on site using the wooded areas around the school and inflatable barriers to create games zones. This is set to be a popular activity and places are limited. Please ensure children bring a spare pair of old clothes and trainers/boots for this activity as they are likely to get muddy. This activity cost £4, please contact us for further information.

NEW - Signing out your child
We have introduced a new signing out system where parents/carers along with signing out with a time to also write you’re relationship to the child your picking up e.g. mum, brother etc

Vouchers – Accor, Allsave, Busy Bees, Care 4, Fair Care, Imagine, Kids Unlimited, Sodexho, Virtual Vouchers and You at Work.
We are registered with the above companies. At the moment we are only accepting the electronic payment system. If you require further information please contact us.

Anti Bullying
Everyone involved in Leighton Park, staff, children and parents/carers will be made aware of Leighton Park’s stance towards
bullying. Such behaviour will not be tolerated or excused under any circumstances. Children found to be bullying others will
receive a four strike warning after the forth strike the child’s parent/carer will be contacted and the child will be picked up and
asked not to attend the scheme until further notice.

Payment
Please note as of March 2010 we will be charging £15 for any bounced cheques.

Bookings
The Holiday Activity Scheme aims to ensure the health, welfare and safety of your child/ren and therefore it is essential that children’s details are obtained in advance of the day the child is attending e.g. medical conditions, special needs etc. With effect from the Autumn Half Term 2005 there will be no bookings taken on the day unless prior notice is given. This is to ensure that staff may have access to any relevant information concerning your child prior to their arrival. If you have a last minute booking this can only be accepted if the office is contacted up until 4.00pm the day before your child/ren are due to attend, please let the office know any special needs / medical conditions etc your child has when booking.

Arrival, Signing In and Out
Please register your child/ren on arrival and record time of arrival and departure. A booking form, medical/consent, terms and conditions form and payment must be received in advance of the day your children are attending the scheme.

Medical Consent Forms
All parents/carers are required to complete a new medical /consent form for their child/ren who will be attending Holiday Activity Schemes during September 2010 - August 2011. Please include special needs, allergies, medical conditions, disabilities etc. Before each activity session staff will check that children have relevant medication with them. Please notify us about any change of details immediately.

Prescribed Medications
If you wish a designated member of Leighton Park staff to administer prescribed medication(s) for your child, please complete a consent form (which is available from the registration desk on request). All parents are asked to clearly label children’s medication. Please check and indicate the medication’s expiry date, batch number, dosage and ensure it is in its original packaging with your child’s name on it. All medications should be handed in to the registration desk each morning except in cases where children must have them with them at all times e.g. Epi-pens, inhalers.

If your child suffers from asthma where possible please supply two inhalers (with your child’s name cleared marked on it), one to be kept in our medical box and one to be carried by your child/ren at all times. 

Daily Programme
The start of the day at 8.45am will involve children discussing the LP Code so that they are aware of the policy on acceptable behaviour. The first activity session starts at 9.00am.  Where possible please ensure children are settled in by 8.45am.  

A full program of activities will be displayed at the start of each day to aid the children in planning their day. Younger children will be helped when choosing activities. The Nintendo room will be restricted to one visit per day, children need to sign up for this activity at the start of each day. If you do not wish your child to take part in any activity, please notify the member of staff on the Registration Desk.

Unsupervised Arrival / Departure
If you are giving your child/ren permission to arrive and depart unsupervised we will require this in writing. They must then ask a member of staff to sign them out. 

Collections by Authorised Persons other than Parent/Carer
If you wish someone other than yourself to collect your child/ren, please inform us in writing of relevant dates and of his or her name (a form is available from the registration desk).
