Off Site Trips (Over 10's)
Leighton Park offer the opportunity for children over ten to
take trips off site during the day. Activities include Paintballing, Thorpe Park, Sailing, Rafting, Kayak on the River and many more. For specific dates of trips please

We now also offer off site trips for under tens where children will visit places such as Intech Science Centre and Planetarium, Legoland, Marwell Zoo and The Look Out. For specific dates of trips please see the relevant booking form or click here for further details on each trip.
On Site Activities (All ages)
During each holiday period we offer extra activities alongside our already extensive range of activities, these include Circus Skills, Climbing, Easter Egg Hunt, Laser Quest, and many more. There is an additional charge for all offsite trips and there are limited numbers of places available. Please book early to avoid disappointment.

Aquadrome (Over 10's)
The Aqudrome swimming pool for over 10's takes place in Basingstoke where there are huge flumes, wave machines and play pools. This activity costs £8.

Bowling (Over 10's)
This over 10's trip takes place most holidays, the children will leave after 1st session (10.15am) and be back by 1pm and costs £8.

NEW* Go Karting (Over 10's)
Teamworks Karting is like no other indoor go karting circuit. Boasting state of the art karts and circuits that challenge the most experienced drivers, Teamworks offers a unique motorsport experience. This activity costs £25.

Ice Skating (Over 10's)
Ice skating is held at The John Nike Leisure Centre in Bracknell. The trip leaves at 10:15am and arrives back at 1:30pm, please bring warm clothes, gloves, extra pairs of socks and hat. This activity costs £8.

Kayaking and River Trip (Over 10's)
Throughout the holiday activities all children will have the opportunity to take part in kayaking sessions held in our pool, for those who competent in the water and kayak we are offering the chance to take them out to Pangbourne where they can put there skills learnt in the pool into practice. This activity costs £15.
Paint Balling (Over 11's)
Paint balling includes a day visit to Maidenhead centre run by Delta Force, each child will have 330 paint balls and play 6 different scenarios twice. N.B. Children must be 11 and over. This trip leaves at 8.50am and will be back for 4.30pm, please bring extra money if you require extra paintballs. This activity costs £25.

Raft Building and Sailing (Over 10's)
Longridge taster sessions are always a good experience for the first time sailor. Beginner boats are fitted with a raised boom to give more room to maneuvre. Whilst during Raft Building children have to design and make their own raft to make it across to the island. Both these sessions are superb fun and very popular. This activity costs £20.

Snow Tubing (Over 10's)
Snow tubes are fast inflatable fun with no skill required! You simply walk up the slope with your tube, sit in the tube and slide back down! All sessions are run by an experienced member of staff who will get you spinning and joining the tubes together in different combinations. The trip leaves at 10:15am and arrives back at 1:30pm, so children will be able to take part in the 1st, 4th and 5th activities.

Thorpe Park (Over 10's)
An over 10's trip which runs every holiday apart from Winter and Spring, the trip will leave at 9.15am and arrive back at 5.30pm. Please pack suitable clothing (waterproofs, tracksuit bottoms,) Ensure children take a pack lunch and spending money if they wish the trip costs £25. Beale Park (Under 10's)
Beal Park offers the under tens a chance to explore the deer park, pet area and education room. This activity leaves at 10.15am and will arrive back at 3.30pm and costs £8. For more information please visit http://www.bealepark.co.uk/
Bucklebury Farm (Under 10's)
A very popular trip for the under 10's, the farm offers a wide range of animals to see along with talks, feeding times and a vertical drop slide. The trip will leave at 9.30am and arrive back by 3.30pm and costs £8.

NEW* CBBC Studio Tour (7 - 11yr olds)
This trip is aimed at children aged between 7 and 11 years, the CBBC Interactive Tour takes you on a journey into the magic of CBBC. The tour is truly interactive, giving the kids the chance to have a go at making some of their very own TV.
If the kids are ready to be challenged by the bravest warrior of them all, they can take part in our specially recorded Raven game. If larking around in costume is more their cup of tea, then they can also visit the pink cupboard and become 'Diddy Dick and Dom'.
As well as all the interactivity, the groups will get to visit the famous Blue Peter Garden, take a peek into some of the BBC studios and enjoy an exclusive visit to a dressing-room.

Legoland (Under 10's)
This popular trip for under 10's runs every May and Summer holiday, the trip leaves at 9.15am and returns by 5.30pm. Please pack lots to drink,, sun hats, waterproofs and spending money if you wish. Marwell Zoo (Under 10's)
Under 10's love this trip to the Zoo, children will be able to watch the educational shows and displays, feed the animals and explore the adventure park. Pantomime Trip (All ages)
The Panto trip is an extremely popular and enjoyable winter only activity. Depending on the performance each year we visit either the Hexagon in Reading or Wycombe Swan. Book early to avoid disapointment, this trip costs £25.
Science Centre and Planetarium (Under 10's)
For the under 10’s this is a trip that will book up fast. Children visit an all weather undercover attraction packed with hands-on activities. The centre provides a unique opportunity for children to learn about science and technology. This trip leaves at 9.15 and will arrive back at 4.30pm and costs £15.

The Look Out Discovery Centre (Under 10's)
The Look Out trip will leave at 10.15am and arrive back at 3.30pm so children will able to take part in the first and last activities of the day. Please ensure your child has suitable clothing e.g. jackets, gloves and hat in the winter and plenty of water and in the summer. This activity costs £8.

On Site Activities in more detail
Animation and Photographic Fun (All ages)
Fun Active Creative Events have worked for Reading Borough Council, MTV and other agencies and have a proven record with quality productions. The animation workshops run for 1 to 2 hours where the children are able to learn about animation techniques and get to produce their own short movie. All children will be sent a copy of their animation on DVD. The aim is for the children to learn whilst having fun and producing something they can keep forever. This activity costs £11.
Bikeability (For children who can ride without stablilisers)
Bikeability levels, help your child become a better, safer cyclist. As you go through the levels your child can safely go to more places on their bike. Courses will be for half a day for each level.
CHILDREN MUST PROVIDE THEIR OWN HELMET
Level 1 - during level 1 you learn to control your bike. By completing Level 1, you can show you have the skills to ride where there are no cars and that you are ready to start your road training.
Level 2 - during level 2 you start with real traffic, but sticking to quiet roads. By completing Level 2 you can show you have the skills to make a trip safely to on quiet roads and cycle lanes, perhaps to school.
Offsite Ride - is where we will take the children to the Look Out and cycle round a planned route under the supervision of instructors. Children must have completes level two to do the off-site ride.

Circus Skills (All ages)
Come and learn a host of different Circus Skills with the Oojamaflip Circus Workshop. You can learn plate spinning, diabolo, devil sticks, juggling, stilt walking, balancing, yoyos and much much more. You will be treated to a demonstration of all the skills which you can then try for yourself in a very relaxed and fun environment. Very safe and great for all ages, come and have a go!

Egg Zip Line & Easter Egg Hunt (All ages)
Both these activities run during the Easter holidays, The Zip Line offers the challenge to children to create a carrier for a raw egg. The egg goes inside their design and it's whizzed down a 40ft zip line! This is a very popular and fun activity with lots of prizes on offer.
Both these activities are free of charge.
NEW* Jewellery Making
This activity is a combination of pottery painting and jewellery making. The children will start off the session by painting some pottery pendants and beads. There will be a selection of pottery beads given to them from which they will choose the ones that they would like in their necklace. Once the pottery beads have been painted, the children would then be able to select plastic and metal beads to make up the rest of their necklace. A range of plastic and metal beads would be provided for them to make their selection. The beads would be placed by them on beads boards to be able to visualise their necklaces and once they are happy with their selection they will string the whole necklace onto a wire. The strung necklace would be taken away. The pottery beads would be glazed and fired and the necklace re-strung and finished with clasps to make a complete necklace just as they wanted it to be. All the required tools needed for the painting and jewellery making will be provided. Pottery will be fired and delivered to the school 2 weeks after the trip. This activity costs £11.

NEW* Laser Quest (All Ages)
During the Spring Half Term we will be offering Laser Quest as an extra activity available for all ages. It will all take place on site using the wooded areas around the school and inflatable barriers to create games zones. This is set to be a popular activity and places are limited. Please ensure children bring a spare pair of old clothes and trainers/boots for this activity as they are likely to get muddy. This activity cost £6, please contact us for further information.
LP’s got Talent (All ages)
Extremely popular every summer. Children are invited to pitch their talent e.g. singing to a panel of judges. The top 12 contestants will go through to a final at the end of the week.
Paint Me (All ages)
A local artist, Debbie who has worked with us for 3 years now instructs and helps the children paint their picture, it's then transferred onto either a T-shirt, jigsaw or themed item depending on time of year e.g. Christmas stocking. This activity costs £11.
Passport challenge – Designed to encourage children to take part in activities they may not necessarily choose to do, each activity has a points rating e.g. Kayaking 10pts Nintendo Room 0pts.
Children DO NOT have to take part in these weeks, sessions will still run as normal.
Sweet Pottery (All Ages)
Unwind and have fun, Sweet Pottery offers a wide range of pottery ready to be painted by you. From plates, mugs, dragons, cars and lots more. There is something for everyone. No experience necessary. Pottery will be fired and delivered to the school 2 weeks after the trip. This activity costs £11.
NEW* Swim School Academy (All ages)
Swim School Academy is new to Leighton Park, we are providing the opportunity for children of all ages and abilities to work in small skill specific groups. There may be areas of your child’s swimming which is weaker than others e.g. kicking or backstroke, this is the ideal opportunity to develop these skills.
Children will be in a group no larger than 4 and have a 30 minute lesson on the skill specified by you. Our ASA Level 2 qualified instructors will structure these personal lessons to tailor each individual’s requirements. We can cater for children from non swimmers to level 12. This activity costs £7 per session.
Along side our Swim Academy we are starting a Swim School in May 2011, this will run on Tuesday's from 4.15 - 5.15. Watch this space for booking forms and further information.
Taekwondo (All ages)
Find your focus, through Taekwondo, have Fun Learning self defense with traditional Taekwondo. Make new friends, improve your concentration and mental acuity, achieve more academically, improve balance, strength and over all health. Try something new! This activity costs £4.
Tennis Coaching (All ages)
Intermediate BTCA Tennis Coach Tim Usher will be leading the tennis. Sessions run from 10:30 – 15:30 one three consecutive days during the summer holidays. Courses are aimed at all ages & abilities, equipment is provided but please feel free to bring your own. This activity cost £10 per day.
Tie Dying (All ages)
Children need top provide their own t-shirt for this activity. It is usually held every Wednesday during the holidays (please check relevant booking form for specific dates) This activity is free of charge.
24ft Mobile Climbing Wall (All ages)
The children will have the oppotunity to climb our 4 sided 24ft Mobile Wall. The Wall uses the latest belay technology providing each climber with their own individual auto belay unit, providing the climber with the ultimate safety and enjoyment. The wall has been designed to allow 4 climbing to climb at any one time with each climbing face set up for climbers of all abilities to be challenges. This activity costs £6.
