Art

There are numerous extra curricular activities on offer at Leighton Park catering for every type of interest.  The facilities offered in the Art department and the talents displayed by students were praised in "The Good Schools Guide" report. Works of art by students are displayed around school for all to enjoy.

There is a DT workshop, Art classes (which will vary from Oil Painting, Expressive Art to Figure drawing), an opportunity to join the Ceramics group, pottery, textile arts and Knitting and Jewellery making. The well equipped dark room is popular too for students who enjoy photography, either as part of the curriculum or as an interest.

The artist-in -residence is heavily involved with both art lessons but also the extra-curricular activities in the department.  Students appreciate the value of seeing an artist at work in their studio, and learning from them.
