House Living

The five houses lie at the heart of the Leighton Park community: Fryer, the Junior House, for pupils aged 11–13 and the Senior houses; Reckitt, Grove, Field and School for pupils aged 13–18.

The houses, with their tutor teams, provide the focus for pastoral care. Strong relationships between staff and pupils are one of the hallmarks of Leighton Park. See relationships, pastoral care and tutors.

Different age groups mix easily within the houses and this leads to strong bonds of friendship and trust, with the older pupils being sensitive to the needs of the younger.

A residential environment for all

All the houses are for both day and boarding pupils, giving them a richer experience. Pupils can easily make friends from all over the country and around the world.  Apart from making the whole Leighton Park community more cohesive, the experience of a residential setting helps students settle so much more easily at university. A co-educational environment

Each house is co-educational, with areas that girls and boys both use socially, such as a library, games, television and common rooms. In this environment pupils gain so much, and well-balanced friendships develop: a strong preparation for their lives in the future. Residential areas are in separate parts of the houses.
