Boarding

Pupils living away from home need a secure and comfortable environment where they can concentrate on their study but also grow as individuals. Each of the houses quickly becomes a home to those who live there – whether full, weekly or day boarders who stay for the occasional night.

Bedrooms are comfortable and pupils are encouraged to make them as homely as possible. Sixth Formers usually have single study bedrooms; younger pupils typically share a room with one to three others.

Pupils’ safety and security are of the highest importance; clear and well-enforced rules guide how and when they may leave the school grounds.

Weekly boarders benefit from the independence that comes from staying at school during the week combined with weekends at home. Full boarders also enjoy a balance of organised and free time at weekends.

Oakview, the dining facility, offers a wide range of high quality, freshly cooked meals, as well as catering for various dietary or religious requirements. Please see our example breakfast, lunch and supper menus.  The houses also have kitchenettes where pupils can  make themselves snacks. See also A day at Leighton Park and Pastoral Care.
