The Sixth Form
Whether students are day or boarding, Leighton Park’s co-educational, multi-cultural, residential environment offers the best possible preparation for university life. For further information refer to the community, house living, and international students.
A broad range of A level subjects is available with students gaining excellent results in public examinations: for eight consecutive years, Sixth Form students have achieved a pass rate of over 97%. For further details see Sixth Form curriculum and academic success. Students can also opt to follow the IB Diploma Programme.
The Caradon Sixth Form centre provides a further focus for Sixth Form students, enhancing the distinction of the Sixth Form and strengthening its particular sense of community. There are areas for study with ICT facilities and meeting rooms as well as a lounge, fitted kitchen and private garden.
Students also benefit from:
-
The LiteBytes additional studies programme which includes Mandarin, Critical Thinking and Dance;
-
Distance learning options which currently include Psychology;
-
A wide range of other activities from sport, music and drama, to after-dinner speakers, debates and community service, and Sixth Form social events; there is a bi-annual major foreign trip: In October 2008 students visited Russia.
