Friday 21st May 2010 was both joyous and sad. At Leavers' Collect and Meeting, Upper Sixth students reflected on their time at Leighton Park as they prepared for university and life after school. Ministry from many students was emotional and deeply moving, reflecting the affection they all felt for the school which to many had been a home, too, for many years.
Leavers' Collect saw the annual presentation of prestigious Leavers' Awards. We were delighted and touched that the family and friends of Jorge Hortal had returned again from Spain to present the award given in memory of an outstanding student who died tragically in his early twenties. Collect and Meeting for Worship were followed by afternoon tea in the warm sunshine in Caradon Garden, and later on by the splendid Leavers' Dinner in the evening, with more presentations and formal speeches.
