On Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd February Leighton Park School ran Taster Days for pupils who have been offered a place in September.
The first day was for all Year 7 and Year 8 entries, with the second for Year 9 entries. They were a huge success with over 80 children attending.
Comments from those that attended the days included:
‘After the day at Leighton Park, I really look forward to coming here.’
‘I enjoyed it all! I’ve never been so inspired.’
‘It was a privilege to be a pupil for a day. I loved meeting my soon to be class mates.’
‘The day was brilliant fun and gave me a great view of what the school is like. The day also made me a lot more comfortable about coming to Leighton Park.’
John Dunston, Head, said, ‘Taster days are a great way for the children to experience what it is really like to be at the school, meet new friends and get over some of the anxieties they may have about starting at a new school. We ran Science, Sports, Music, Art and Drama lessons so there was something for everyone during the day.’
Roger Aylward, Head of Fryer, added, ‘We find that on these days the children forge friendships making the transition to Leighton Park exciting and positive.’
