Year 7 pupils enjoy an Anglo-Saxon feast

Pupils in Year 7 put on an Anglo-Saxon feast to enter into the world of their ancestors.
Home-made bread, very heavy though it was, and natural fruits and cheeses, were relished by all.

Richard Griffiths, Head of History and Politics, said 'The pupils need to have empathy for the people of the past and, above all, see history as fun. Pork pies and apple juice may well inspire them to pursue an academic interest in the discipline.'

This is another example of how Leighton Park encourages young minds into subjects which, according to national statistics are declining in popularity.  By making these subjects fun and engaging at a young age we find that more are likely to continue these subjects at higher levels.
