Oakview Dining

Young people's diets are rightly a national concern. Oakview, our dining centre, opened in September 2004 to widespread acclaim. Offering an enviable range of top quality food, and situated next to the woodland pond with stunning panoramic views over the meadowland, it is a wonderful focal point for the whole community.

Pupils can choose from:

  • A choice of home-made soups and breads;

  • Three main-course options, one of which is prepared by our chef-in-theatre in full view of pupils and staff;

  • The pasta bar;

  • The salad bar;

  • The jacket potato bar;

  • Delicious home-made sweets;

  • Fresh cut fruit or natural yoghurt with toppings.

Please see our example menus for breakfast, lunch and supper.

At the official opening Sir Steve Redgrave commented: "It is great to see Leighton Park's commitment to encouraging young people to establish healthy eating habits. What the school is doing is very special and should be replicated in schools around the country."

Kópitiam

In the centre of Oakview is an area set aside as a Sixth Form café, Kópitiam (the name chosen by students and deriving from Malay and Chinese words for coffee shop). Senior pupils can use this area during private study periods, either to discuss work or to meet up with friends and chat over coffee.
