Leighton Park is great academically, but it is everything else that it offers that is of most value to us as parents of a teenager. Close Quote

The Community

The Community

Leighton Park is more than just a school: it is a community that offers young people an exceptional and enriching preparation for life.

The school community, currently 500 pupils, comprises approximately 70% day pupils, 15% weekly boarders and 15% full boarders. The five houses, which are the heart of the pastoral care, are for both day and boarding pupils who mix easily together.

Twenty different countries are represented among the twenty percent of the pupils who come from overseas. With so many different backgrounds, religions, nationalities and cultures represented, Leighton Park offers a vision of how the world might be. Pupils mix positively with people from different backgrounds and learn to value the insights that other cultures can offer.

The sense of community extends beyond the pupils themselves. Staff give generously of themselves and their time, with energy, enthusiasm and an outstanding commitment to their pupils. This leads to a natural and deep sense of mutual respect.
