Kit Aid Support Benefits Children in Need
Monday 15th May marked the collection by the charity ‘Kit Aid’ of over 50 bags of used items of sports clothing and equipment kindly donated by the parents of Leighton Park students. Many items were the school’s old brand sports kit and as such, had plenty of wear in it, despite no longer being consistent with the dress code. The donations have been collected over the past few months and stored in the three boarding Houses ready for today.
Kit Aid facilitates these vital supplies being sent overseas to a variety of destinations in the developing world where they will make a huge difference to underprivileged children in need of sports clothes.
Mark Smith, a Trustee and volunteer for the Charity, said the donations from Leighton Park made a massive contribution to their resources. “This is the Charity’s 25th Anniversary year and today’s delivery will ensure they are very near to 1 Million items being sent abroad.” he said. Leighton Park are proud to have supported the cause for a third year running and helped Kit Aid to achieve such an amazing goal.
Thank you to all those who have taken the time to donate, sort and prepare for the collection today which has been so well received.
