Lisbon Fashion Week Runway show for OL Archie

It’s been quite a year for OL Archie Dickens (2012), who was one of 10 new designers selected for  Vogue Portugal’s  New Blood” show in Lisbon Fashion Week S/S 19. His collection of knitwear is inspired by a shark egg, informing the shape, silhouette & textile development of the pieces.

Archie explains “Whilst in water, the ray egg is strong and supple, whereas out of water, it becomes dry and brittle”. His designs explore this delicate balance through fluid linear knits, created through labour-intensive hand-transferred stitches, which Archie finds inspiring in itself as a process.

Archie studied for a BA in Textiles Design at Chelsea College of Art, then completed a Masters in Fashion Knitwear at the Royal College of Art. His collection “Forma De Vida” highlighted by Hero magazine as “one of the standout menswear graduates ready to change the fashion landscape”.
