Lower Sixth at Little Canada Adventure Centre

On the weekend of Friday 16th to Sunday 18th September, Lower Sixth crossed over to ‘Little Canada’ Adventure Centre on the Isle of Wight. Residing in the woodland log cabins on the banks of Wootton Creek, students bonded over a number of activities on land and sea!

“Although we have run this trip since 2009, we had not been for the last two years and so were very happy to return! The weather was good, the food was great and the trip serves as a wonderful way for the new Lower Sixth to get to know each other.” Reflected Helen Taylor, Head of Sixth Form.

From the famed giant swing to the tension of the trapeze, kayaking, tree-top exercises and more, all had a fantastic time at the PGL Adventure centre.

Flick reported back, “During the Isle of Wight trip, so much happened, it was just a joyous ride of excitement! I would have to say that my highlight of the trip would be the Giant Swing, What a thrill! Creating new friends as well was also another great part of the trip and branching out of our normal social groups really encouraged us to step out our comfort zone!”

Max commented, “My highlight from the trip was the whole group being gathered around the campfire where we all sang songs and roasted marshmallows. This is because it was so fun and the sense of togetherness was amazing.” Ben contested, “My favourite moment of the trip was the vertical challenge, I went up it 17 times.”
