On Saturday 26th November the force was with Leighton Park as Saber Guild graced us with a stage combat workshop. Saber Guild, who specialise in choreographed lightsaber classes and performances, are recognised by LucasFilm and Disney. Although the charity organisation has delivered events for many years, this was the very first to be run by the recently established UK branch.
Head of Physics, Simon Booth, commented “The first session saw a hoard of Fryers learn the basics of attack and defence before putting it together to work with a partner. The second group was filled with older students and some clearly had previous experience!
Simon continued “By the end of the session, they had developed their own routines based on what they had learned and showed a surprising variety of content. All involved gained a lot from the experience and several have already asked when the next session will be!”
“Absolutely brilliant session, thanks for organising!” enthused one parent.
