New Scholarship Majors for 2021

From September 2021, we are excited to introduce a new category of scholarship called Scholarship Majors. Awarded for excellence in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths), Ethical Enterprise and Music, these scholarships will reflect core strengths of the School and our focus on nurturing talent in these areas.

Our award-winning and innovative approach to STEAM already encourages students to develop skills in critical thinking, creative problem solving, entrepreneurship and leadership. However, for those students who can really embody this interdisciplinary method of working, a scholarship will support them to truly excel in their preferred field. With an explicit focus on creativity, we aim to give girls and boys everything they need to take an idea and make it fly.

The new Ethical Enterprise Scholarship will recognise students with a determined desire to change the world. This may take the form of a strong commitment to ethical approaches, equality and sustainability, entrepreneurial spirit or a desire to tackle social and environmental issues. Driven by our Quaker values, throughout the last academic year our newly appointed Assistant Head (Partnerships and Outreach) has guided the School to make a significant impact in our local community creating and strengthening partnerships and offering enrichment activities. Students who take on opportunities such as these and can demonstrate their values in action are what we hope for in our Ethical Enterprise scholars.

Although our STEAM and Ethical Enterprise scholarships are primarily intended for Sixth Form applicants, we are also excited to welcome applicants joining Year 9 from September 2021, who can provide evidence of applying their skills to real-world problems.

Top performing students who apply for a Music Scholarship will be considered for a Music Major. However, no matter what scholarship status they might hold, students find themself immersed in this bustling department from day one. Proud to be a Flagship Yamaha Music Education Partner, the only school in Europe to hold this prestigious status, in addition to being a Steinberg Certified Training Centre, an outstanding array of instruments and technology, exclusive teaching materials and specialist training are at the fingertips of our musicians.

Please visit our scholarships page to find out more information about the scholarship application process, expectations and benefits. The submission deadline to be considered for a 2021 scholarship is Friday 13th November 2020.
