On Friday 2nd January, the boys’ football squads kicked off the new year with a chilly pre-season training session.
The day brought training drills and technique practice to the U15 and U18 teams before friendlies against local clubs.
The U18s drew 4-4 to their opponents, local grassroots club, Whiteknights U18s. Leighton Park Head of Football, Callum Beasley commented: “It was good to get the boys back in early and integrate new additions. It’s been great to have a match against our most local club team, and we look forward to further matches.” Followed by Whiteknights manager, Tom Woolmer: “Today was a great opportunity to run off the Christmas cobwebs with a well competed game against Leighton Park on a lovely pitch. A 4-4 draw was a good result, and best of the luck for the season”.
