The Scholars’ Award Ceremony celebrated the talents and the potential of our students on Wednesday 14th September at an event which brought together new scholars, existing scholars, their parents and staff.
Held in the Upper Foyer of the MMC and in Main Hall attendees enjoyed the opportunity to catch up over light refreshments before proceeding to the speeches and awards. Alex Wallace, Deputy Head (Academic), spoke of the need for talent to be nurtured by opportunities at Leighton Park, by support at home and by the passion of the students themselves. The Heads of Department, who presenting the scholars with their awards, spoke in turn, explaining their selection processes and emphasing that recognising the potential of each scholar is key as their talent will continue to grow throughout Leighton Park and beyond.
We offer a broad selection of scholarships including the Head’s Scholarship Awards, Exhibition Scholarships and Honorary Scholarships across a range of disciplines. Scholarships are awarded for Academic, Art, Dance, Drama, Music, Sport, STEAM and Ethical Enterprise. In addition, David Lean Awards which recognise those who have achieved excellent GCSE results are presented to those who achieve seven grade 7s or above in the summer’s public examinations.
