Compassionate Challenge

You will be supported through what we call Compassionate Challenge - a way of learning and growing that combines high expectations, honesty and accountability with genuine care, empathy and understanding. This means you are not only supported, but also encouraged to push yourself and broaden your horizons. We will help you discover what you’re truly capable of achieving.

Your experience here is shaped by our Quaker values, which guide how we help you discover and develop your potential. These values create a shared foundation in a school with students of all faiths and none. They are rooted in a history of positive change - from organisations like Amnesty International, Greenpeace and Oxfam, to successful Quaker businesses that crated social good and the Quakers’ recognition with the Nobel Peace Prize in 1947. This rich heritage helps provide the impetus as we encourage you to imagine and shape a better world.

Community and Wellbeing

You will be part of a school that is recognised nationally for its pastoral care and its commitment to supporting you to become the best version of yourself.

This is built around three key ideas:

  1. You will be known and valued within a vibrant and ambitious community – giving you a strong sense of self, equipped with the tools and environment to thrive academically, pastorally and beyond the classroom.
  2. You will feel supported every step of the way with the courage to live adventurously and push yourself - through consistent care, kindness and compassion, with trusted adults you can turn to whenever you need.
  3. You will develop strong, respectful relationships and a clear sense of belonging - through an exceptional co-educational environment shaped by fifty years of experience, helping you navigate the opportunities and challenges of adolescence with confidence.

Strong, Supportive Relationships

You will be part of a close-knit tutor group of 10 or 11 students. This means your tutor will really get to know you - your strengths, your goals and how best to support you.

You will see your tutor three times a day. They’ll be on hand to help you to solve any problems you have and to guide you to make the most of all the opportunities in the school. They also stay in regular contact with your parents, ensuring you are supported by a team working together for your success.

At Leighton Park, you will work with your teachers on a first-name basis. This helps create a more open, respectful and collaborative environment, where you feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas and taking ownership of your learning. The teachers will be working alongside you to help you achieve your goals. This approach results in our students consistently achieving some of the best academic progress in the UK.

Fostering a Sense of Belonging

When you join Leighton Park, you become part of a kind, inclusive and open-minded community. You will be welcomed into an environment where difference is celebrated and everyone is respected.

You will benefit from a global outlook that encourages understanding and curiosity about the world around you. At the same time, you will be supported to make the most of your own unique talents, with equal opportunities to succeed.

You will also learn how to build positive and meaningful relationships - through open communication, active listening and problem-solving - skills that will stay with you long beyond your time at school.
