The UK Government requires that every boarding student with parents who lives overseas must have an adult guardian in the UK who is responsible for them during their studies at Leighton Park. It is the parents’ responsibility to find a suitable guardian for their child.

Leighton Park is a member of AEGIS (Association for the Education and Guardianship of International Students) who can support you with this choice. Leighton Park has a strong track record of working closely with UK Guardianship and White House Guardianships.

The guardian will:

  • provide a 24/7 point of contact for parents, students and the school should an emergency arise.
  • work closely with families and the school to organise travel and accommodation during term breaks.
  • make sure that students under 16 are accompanied by a responsible adult when travelling to or from school.
  • be available to attend school events and meet with staff to discuss the student’s progress.
  • keep in regular contact with the school to monitor and support the student’s welfare.
