Our new Sixth Form Study Centre and School Library will develop an historic building designed by one of the UK’s most celebrated Victorian architects, Alfred Waterhouse, and infuse it with beautiful study spaces and cutting-edge learning technology.
Our students already achieve the best academic progress in Berkshire – so we’re excited to see what they can do when they have a brand-new study centre, with every detail designed to support their success. As well as providing incredible spaces to learn, this project will support our students’ development of the skills they need to be changemakers – with a lecture theatre for inspirational guest speakers and a video conferencing studio to enable global connections and reach. Thank you to Cube Design for creating this fly-through video.

Grove House opened in September 1894. It was Leighton Park’s first purpose-built boarding house.
Until 1878 a Quaker school named ‘Grove House School’ had existed in Tottenham. When it closed the trustees of the old Grove House School Trust released the funds to pay for the construction of Leighton Park’s new boarding house.
The distinguished architect Alfred Waterhouse, himself a former pupil of Grove House, Tottenham, was appointed as the architect. Waterhouse designed numerous important buildings across the nation, notably the Natural History Museum in Kensington.
Grove House is an important historic building, and as it moves into a new phase with new functions, it is exciting to think of it having a well-deserved renovation and refurbishment to bring it back to its full glory.
