The start of study leave is a momentous date for our Year 11s marked by the scribbling of many autograghs across the blank canvas of crisp white school shirts! 

It was time for an encore on the evening of Wednesday 29th April, at our ‘Encore! An Evening of Music and Dance’ event.

Talented dance students from Years 7-9 were excited to participate in Swindon Dance Workshop on Sunday 26^th April preparing their contemporary commercial fusion piece for the annual summer showcase, ‘Let’s Dance’.

It has been another outstanding term of sport at Leighton Park, with over 300 fixtures and competitions completed since the start of the academic year. 

As the 2026 Easter Ski Trip got underway, excitement was high as students gathered bright and early on Saturday 28th March, ready to embark on their journey to Linz, Austria and take on the slopes.

It was the Silver DofE Expedition during the first week of Easter break for 19 of our students in the Brecon Beacons!

The A Level Drama group were delighted to return to London for a live performance of another of their set texts, ‘Amadeus’ by Peter Shaffer. 

Three of our musical students achieved great success in the choral and instrumental sections of Woodley Festival 2026.

22 of our keen footballers have enjoyed sport and sunshine in Spain from Saturday 14^th to Wednesday 18^th February, all sharing a strong passion for football and a desire to learn.

Our Assistant Head: Director of IB, Kees Luteijn, was delighted to lead our second International Baccalaureate Cultural Trip for 2025-26 to Windsor on Sunday 8th February.

Dancers from Years 7-11 had the wonderful experience of taking part in Berkshire School’s Tone and Poise Dance Competition on Friday 6th February.

Our latest London Academy of Musical and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) results have come in and our students have done it again!

Taylor and Romeo, two of our talented IB Music students, also showcased their latest project, a work collaboratively designed with Drama students.

Saturday 17^th January saw 16 runners from Leighton Park at the annual Berkshire Schools Cross Country Competition held at Newbury Showground.

Two of our talented Lower Sixth musicians are flying high following their success at the Independent Schools Association (ISA) Young Musician competition this week.

Congratulations to George (Year 11) on being selected for the Under 16 England Hockey Squad for 2025-26 after previously having been selected for the U16 Squad last year also.

A fantastic first term for sport with no less than 135 fixtures being played in the Autumn term most definitely helped by the mild weather we have had.

A Level Drama students were lucky to secure tickets to see the upcoming RSC production of the iconic Shakespeare play, Othello, at the Theatre Royal Haymarket on Thursday 11th December.

On Wednesday 3^rd December, our Drama Scholars across all year groups took part in a Multimedia Workshop in the MMC Media Room and Drama Studios

Year 8 had a brilliant time at ‘Back To The Future The Musical’ and were blown away by the incredible stage production and special effects.

On Friday 28th November, Josh (Year 7), Kian (Lower Sixth) and Cataleya (Year 7) proudly represented the London West region

There were plenty of toe-tapping tunes at the Jazz Infusions Concert on Wednesday 19^th November as our talented musicians took to the stage in Main Hall.

Students from all year groups gathered in our Maths building for the annual House Chess tournament on Monday 17^th November!

IB Sixth Formers joined the IB enrichment trip to London’s Greenwich, gaining memorable and enriching experiences at the start of the academic year. 

Leighton Park’s Large Ensembles Concert was a vibrant celebration of musical variety, talent and practice showcasing the orchestra, senior choir, wind, brass and string groups in a richly diverse programme.

We are thrilled to announce that Mikayla placed fifth in the NATD Theatrical Scholarships Finals for the Senior Contemporary category, held on Sunday 5^th October  in Sutton Coldfield.

The first concert of the new academic year was delivered with aplomb to a select but delighted audience.

Our U16 Girls’ Hockey Team added another trophy to the cabinet at the County Hockey Tournament on Wednesday 1st October.

An adventurous group of talented skiiers and snowboarders ventured to the Hemel Hemstead Snow Centre on Monday 29^th September for the ISA National Indoor Ski Championships 2025/26. 

On Wednesday 17^th September, we were delighted to host our annual Scholars’ Award Ceremony, recognising the achievements and potential of our newly appointed scholars.

The entire Year 9 cohort were invited to celebrate the start of the new term with theme park rides and chocolate galore on Friday 12^th and Saturday 13^th September!

Over the course of 11^th -12^th September, our Upper Sixth Geography students embarked on an enriching field trip to the renowned Slapton Ley Field Studies Centre near Salcombe, South Devon. Known for its excellent reputation, superb location, and top-class facilities, the centre provided an ideal setting for immersive learning in coastal geography.
