Leighton Park is home to not only a Female Lead Society, but an LP Bros community also.

The student-led community provides a space for boys to explore and discuss key topics related to mental health, relationships, masculinity, and emotional wellbeing whilst being in a supportive, inclusive, and values-led environment.

The LP Bros club not only promotes personal growth but also supports charitable fundraising and awareness initiatives. This year, the group took part in Movember, a campaign that encourages men to grow moustaches throughout November to spark conversations and raise funds for men’s mental health and prostate cancer.

Led by Student Wellbeing Advisor Danny Clarke, our LP Bros teamed up with the talented DT department to design six sustainable, coloured moustache pins. These were offered to the community in exchange for voluntary donations. Bronze pins were given to members of the LP Bros community, gold pins were awarded for donations over £3, and the remaining four came in House colours so everyone could wear their moustache badges with House pride.

In total, the initiative raised £350 and we thank our community for their donations! You can see the Movember fun here.

Through weekly meetings, educational trips, workshops, and leadership development, LP Bros aims to:

  • Foster open communication around issued often stigmatised among boys
  • Build a strong, supportive peer culture from the top down
  • Train a cohort of older students to serve at visible wellbeing leaders and role models
  • Create a clear pathway so that younger students aspire to become an LP Bro when they get to Senior years
