Why is creativity important?

Creativity is consistently identified as one of the most important skills in analyses of the skills that young people will need to be successful in our fast-changing world. It is the soft skills in which the real base is made for future readiness. Being creative is also, of course, a lot of fun!

Our creative curriculum

Our curriculum embraces creativity all the way through, with an emphasis on subjects like Music, Drama, Dance, Music Technology, Fillm Making, Design, Ar, Textiles and Fashion Design but also key off-curriculum projects and personal development programmes from our Creativity, Action and Service Programme that runs from Year 7 to Lower Sixth, to our Enquiry Week and Fryer Project Qualification.

Creative options in the co-curricular programme

Everything we teach in the classroom is expanded through our co-curricular hobby programme, with nearly 100 options on offer - enabling students to explore their interests, learn new skills and fully embrace their curiosity. Pick from options like Animation, Design & Build, Orchestra, LooP Dance Company, Drama, STEAM Club, Stressless Art, Super Sewers or a huge range exciting alternatives.
