On Saturday 22nd November, our Social Enterprise students joined Saltshaker, a charity dedicated to creating Christmas hampers for disadvantaged families in the Berkshire area.
The charity works in partnership with The Cowshed, an organisation that identifies families in need and ensures these thoughtfully prepared hampers are delivered in time for the festive season.
Helping to pack more than 1,500 hampers full of Christmas delights such as mince pies, biscuits and hot chocolate, our students also got stuck into decorating the boxes to ensure they felt like a truly thoughtful gift for families.
Wearing Santa hats, tucking into mince pies themselves and singing along to festive music, the students really felt the strength of communities coming together at Christmas to spread joy. Head, Luke Walters, also joined the efforts and kept the LP production line running smoothly!
Business teacher and Social Enterprise leader, Sarah Owen, commented: “The day was a wonderful chance to give back to the local community and support a charity”.
