Lyrical Dance Workshop | News | Leighton Park | Private school in Berkshire

Reading Dance School Owner and Teacher, Bronia Pearce, worked with our fantastic GCSE Dancers to create a powerful lyrical group for our upcoming ‘Let’s Dance 2026’ show.

Students were challenged to learn and master the choreography in just one day, tackling new movements, timings and musicality, dancing to Alex Warrens ‘Ordinary’. Issie and Mikayla particularly enjoyed having “a person come in and teach us lyrical as it’s a new style for us” and “helping us with our technique and further our style”.

Bronia’s professional credits include some of the biggest shows including Dirty Dancing, We Will Rock You, Carmen and Elf the Musical, as well as TV work, tours, music videos, Bollywood films, pantomimes, and live events. Bronia also served five seasons as Head Coach and Choreographer for CPFC’s cheerleaders, The Crystals, appearing across TV, radio, and international media. Our students drew on her wealth of expertise and really embraced the workshop.

Finishing up the fast paced workshop, Bronia praised our dancers focus and talent: “It’s been a real privilege to come in and teach these girls. Lyrical for me is my favourite style because it’s so emotional. If you would have not told me that these girls had not done lyrical before, I wouldn’t have known. They are all beautiful dancers and have really taken to the style I’ve given them”.

Our Year 11 students also delved into the theory side in an external workshop, ensuring they ace their tehory dance exam with confidence! Having external exam board teachers deliver extra revision enable our students to really push themsleves to achieve the highest possible grades within their written work, refining their answers to fit the marking criteria.
