On Thursday 27th and Friday 28th March, our Sports Scholars had the incredible opportunity to experience elite-level training at St. George’s Park, the home of England’s national teams. From hydrotherapy recovery sessions to strength and conditioning in a world-class gym, students immersed themselves in the daily routines of professional athletes.
The trip was designed to provide an opportunity for students to enhance their athletic skills and gain valuable insights into high-performance sport and was run in partnership with Game Changer Performance, a company that specialises in sport science support, elite athlete performance and rehabilitation. They are based at St George’s Park, home to England’s fantastic football headquarters in Burton Upon Trent, near Derby.
Assistant Director of Sport, Ross Paone, explains “The Sports Scholars also took part in pitch conditioning, and speed and agility testing, using cutting-edge technology designed for elite performers. This hands-on experience not only enhanced their physical development but also provided invaluable insight into the dedication and precision required at the highest level of sport.
Inspired by the environment and expertise at St. George’s Park, our scholars have returned motivated to apply these elite standards to their own training and performance.”
