This winter, the PSC ran their second worthwhile Whitley CDA Christmas Box Campaign. In total, 23 families were matched as well as 14 individuals and couples; “an amazing amount of people to reach!” commented parent, Stacey Corfield, who was heavily involved in the project.
Stacey continued, “Last week, we were also able to present the charity with a cheque for £4,848.77. This money was raised at the Quiz Night and Auction held in October which was doubled by a parent using Microsoft’s charity fund matching scheme. A huge thank you to all who donated auction items and those who supported us on the night, and to Raluca Valeanu for fund matching! The evening also raised £2,479.37 for the British Red Cross Humanitarian Aid Fund for Ukraine.”
Dr Trisha Bennett, Community Development Co-Ordinator at Whitley CDA, commented “A heartfelt thanks to you all, not only for your generosity but also your thoughtfulness. It made a real difference to so many in our community.” Amongst kind words from the gift recipients, one family said “Erin loved her Star Wars Lego! She played with it all day.”
