Thursday 26th October proved busy for our Head of Art, Mark Wood, who has set up our students’ remarkable artwork ready to showcase to the public at the Rotary Charity Art and Craft Fair this weekend, 28th and 29th October. Alongside local artists, the students’ artwork will be displayed at the event that is hosted in our Oakview restaurant annually, in support of the Thomas Franks Foundation. Some of the local artists pieces are available to purchase at very reasonable prices.
All profits from the event go to the Thomas Franks Foundation, a charity dedicated to supporting those who experience food poverty and food insecurity. Leighton Park’s very own chefs create meals in the School kitchen to feed those in need through the Feeding Communities charity every year and we are proud to assist such important work.
The Fair is free to the public, with refreshments available for purchase as well as artwork, to raise money for this great cause. Private preview tickets are also available for the evening of 27th October, at a fee, with complimentary wine and nibbles on offer while being the very first to view the artistry on show.
The fair is open on Saturday 28th October from 10.00 am until 5.00 pm, whereas Sunday 29th October is open from 10.00 am until 4.30 pm. Hosting this event yearly fills us with immense pride, as it resonates deeply with our commitment to community action and service. We look forward to seeing the success of this weekend’s profits and how positively it will impact the community around us.
