The LP festive season is underway, attested by the performance of the annual Christmas Concert on Wednesday 4th December. This fabulous musical event is one of the most popular concerts of the school year and is always well attended by enthusiastic students and supporters. We have many in the audience keen to join in with the school’s tradition of celebrating the ’12 Days of Christmas’; a sing-a-long complete with picture boards. Those new to the school may have been surprised by the volume and the agility of the crowd but those anticipating their involvement brought plenty of energy and enthusiasm to the proceedings!
The Orchestra and Senior Choir were magnificent as our large ensembles rose to the occasion complete with tinsel and Christmas hats. Smaller ensembles including guitars, strings, brass and wind played their festive tunes beautifully and the trios, duets and soloists were seasonally spectacular.
The Christmas music continued with a piano foyer concert on Thursday 5th December during lunch and with the House submissions of their Christmas jingles to our Head; we’re looking forward to watching them in Final Collect! On the Sunday, 8th December, we were pleased to welcome members of the community to Main Hall for our annual Christmas Meeting, a selection of readings, musical pieces and silence followed by community carols around the piano with mince pies.
