Old Leightonian Ruth Scanlon (2013) is used to the tough life in the kitchen in a Michelin starred restaurant, but next week she faces the intense scrutiny of the judges on “Bake Off: The Professionals”. Ruth heads up the team representing the exclusive Hurlingham Club restaurant. She met her team-mate Laura while going through rigorous training at Le Cordon Bleu.
Though only 25 years old, Ruth has been dedicated to becoming a chef since she was still at Leighton Park, leaving after GCSE to begin training. She has worked in London and Hong Kong, in top kitchens including The Royal Oak, Angler, The Square and Hide. But has Ruth got what it takes to impress judges Benoit Blin and Cherish Finden?
Ruth isn’t giving anything away to us about how they got on so we just have to watch Channel 4 on Tuesday at 8.00pm.
