LP Champions at Reading Town Athletics!
Well done to all the students who represented the School at today’s Reading Town Athletics Championships. The competition was held at Palmer Park and involved a number of local schools all keen to take home as many medals as possible!
Due to our Upper Sixth Leavers’ Collect our students were only able to compete in the morning this year but were pleased to be able to take part. The girls participated in track events and the boys in field events.
Keeping up her form, Mia won the Junior Girls’ 100m and Iris was narrowly 2nd in the Junior Girls’ 200m. Lily picked up a bronze medal finishing 3rd place in the Intermediate Girls’ 200m and Ava finished 4th in the Junior Girls’ 300m with Eva placing 5th in the Junior Girls’ 800m. Zara finished 2nd in the Intermediate Girls’ 800m.
In the boys’ events the stand out performances went to Harry who came 3rd in the Junior Boys’ high jump, Joseph who came 2nd in the Juniors Boys’ discus, Charlie who came 2nd in the Intermediate Boys’ discus and Rhys who was 3rd in the Junior’ Boys long jump.
Some of the students will now wait to find out if they have been selected to represent Reading in the Berkshire Schools Athletics Championships next month.
