Music for a Summer’s Evening 2024

Music for a Summer’s Evening 2024 brought joy and delight to audience members as students and staff took to the stage for a fantastic array of music on Saturday, June 29th.

This year, the event featured a new twist, with two stages instead of one, creating a true concert and festival atmosphere! While the Main Stage showcased instrumental and choir pieces, the ‘Head’s Lawn Spotlight Stage’ highlighted soloists and group voices, including many original compositions.

On the Main Stage, the audience enjoyed performances by the Orchestra, Fryer’s ‘Octave 8’ singing group, Senior Jazz, LP Brass, LP Winds, String Ensembles, A Cappella groups, pianists, guitarists, and the Chamber Choir, among others.

Whilst many enjoyed the music with picnic blankets and nibbles from home, hotdogs were also up for grabs in BBQ tents around the stages! A lovely warm summer’s evening to finish the term, celebrating music on the park and enjoying the camaraderie of students.

From day one, we offer students plenty of opportunities to learn, play and perform. We’re proud to be a Flagship Yamaha Music Education Partner, the only school in Europe to hold this prestigious status. It means we have an outstanding array of instruments and industry-standard recording software for our students to use, exclusive teaching materials and specialist training for our staff. With endless opportunities, Leighton Park is prod to offer a ‘Music for all’ approach.
