An adventurous group of talented skiiers and snowboarders ventured to the Hemel Hemstead Snow Centre on Monday 29th September for the ISA National Indoor Ski Championships 2025/26. The 160-metre long slope with plenty of fresh snow was a fabulous setting for our students to compete. The team competed in skiing for U14 boys, U16 girls, U16 boys and U19 girls with a very successful entry also in U19 boys snowboarding.
Finn (Year 11), who picked up a gold medal for his snowboarding success enthused: “It was a fun competition and experience as I got to race against myself but also others from around the country.” Jess (Year 11) and Eva (Lower Sixth) also achieved 5th and 7th places respectively in the U19 skiing.
Director of Sport, Simon Bradbury, who led the trip, commented: “It’s always valuable that we enter ISA competitions. Obviously, skiing is a bit tricky because of the nature of the sport. It was a nice opportunity for the snowboarders and the skiiers to represent the school and to compete against other skiiers and snowboarders.”
