United Against Bullying

In recognition of this year’s Anti-Bullying Week focus, united against bullying, from Monday 16th to Friday 20th November, Year 7 to 9 pledged their individual promises toward the cause. Throughout the exercise, students demonstrated compassion and spoke about the important role that everyone plays in bullying prevention.

Daniel in Year 7 pledged “To challenge bullying you have to do the right thing, whether this is telling an adult, standing up against the bully or supporting the victim.” He continued “Little things like not laughing at a joke, not liking that post, not sending that comment, are the things that really make a difference.”

Another Year 9 Tutor group together discussed why you should always consider the consequences of your actions before carrying them out and ways in which you can show kindness.

Sophia in Year 7 commented “If someone was getting bullied, I would want to be the defender, who stand up for the ‘target’ and tries to make the bullies stop being so mean to them.”

Across the School, 20 of our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors who received dedicated training last year, continue to act as a point of contact for their peers in an encouraging and supportive community, united against bullying.
