On Wednesday 20th March, our Upper Sixth A Level Psychology students travelled to London to take part in the Tutor2U Grade Booster revision conference.
The day involved lots of fast pace activities designed to check students knowledge from the whole course, refine and develop exam skills and put into practice some new strategies to help them access the higher marks.
The students got thoroughly involved and many were invited to share their answers in front of a packed cinema auditorium. Upper Sixth students Vivian, Flick, Alex and Jimmy all made great contributions earning themselves badges for their bravery.
Reflecting on their experiences, students shared insights gleaned from the conference. Erin underscored the value of timed conditions, expressing how they enhanced her preperation, “I found the timed conditions really beneficial, and the interactive feature was also encouraging”. Meanwhile Mandy emphasised her newfound proficiency in tackling various types of questions worth lots of marks, “I learned how to answer different types of the 16 marks questions, which is what I need to write in my essay, and how to write counter argument paragraphs”.
Alex attributed his learning breakthrough to a newfound understanding of application techniques, saying “My best tip I learned from the trip was about application – using the jigsaw technique!”.
The Tutor2U Grade Booster revision conference proved to be a transformative experience for our Upper Sixth A Level Psychology students, equipping them with the tools and insights necessary to excel in their examinations.
