A Sparkling Soiree for the Sixth Form!

The Sixth Form Christmas Dinner on Friday 9th December was an evening to shimmer and sparkle! The two year groups looked very glamorous in their black tie and sequinned dresses and were ready to party in Oakview as they celebrated the end of term by sharing a meal with friends.

Thomas Franks, our catering team, had done a marvellous job offering a mouth-watering menu that included beetroot and dill cured salmon, roasted asparagus, parma ham, poached duck egg and chicken supreme stuffed with mozzarella and sundried tomato. For dessert there was a choice of chocolate brownie, blueberry and white chocolate cheesecake and pear and ginger tart crumble. It was a festive feast that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.

Following the dinner the Sixth Form Awards were presented for categories including most likely to win an Olympic medal or a Grammy, most likely to star in a movie, most likely to cure cancer and most likely to win the Nobel Peace Prize. On a less serious note those voted Little Miss Sunshine (Erin, Lower Sixth) or Most likely to win the lottery but lose the ticket (James, Lower Sixth) received plenty of applause for their innate talents!

The evening finished around 10.00pm with some students heading home and others heading on to further parties off the Park to continue their Christmas revels.

Head of Sixth Form, Helen Taylor, reflected “It was a night of firsts; the first time we’ve had a Sixth Form Christmas Dinner in three years and the first time it’s clashed with the World Cup! It was a really lovely event with a fantastic group of students.”
