Tate Britain and Tate Modern were the chosen destination to help enhance the Year 10 artists’ historical knowledge and enable them to take photographs and create drawings of the unique variety of architectural shapes and surfaces found across the city.
The students were able to fully appreciate the ‘London Experience’ as they travelled by Thames Riverboat to the Tate Britain and stopped for lunch at the Tate Modern, enjoying an afternoon of contemporary artwork and drawing from the everchanging city scape across the river. The trip ended in the early evening with a short walk back along the vibrant Southbank towards Waterloo. Despite a little rain the trip was fantastic opportunity for students to explore different artists work in a setting away from the classroom.
