Sport has been strong this term with over 120 fixtures and competitions played across all our year groups, fully embracing our ‘sport for all’ approach.
The Senior Rugby Team have been undefeated all season winning the Super 8 League Final on Wednesday 7th December at home to Reddam House 28-1. A second highlight being the win against St.Joseph’s College in the Friday Night Lights (43-0). Continuing the rugby success, our U14 Rugby team have also been undefeated all season with their final game at home to Holme Grange on Tuesday 6th December being conceded by our opponents.
Matching the boys’ prowess on the pitch, our U15 Girls Hockey team has also been undefeated all season scoring 31 goals and conceding just 4.
Individual accolades include Oliver (Year 11) being selected for the England U16 Hockey Squad, Zak (Year 11) being selected for the GB U19 Rowing Squad, Rebecca (Year 11), Chloe (Year 11), Ava (Year 9), Oscar (Year 10) and George (Year 8) all getting selected for Berkshire Hockey Squad and Charlotte (Year 11) and Cali (Year 10) both selected for England Rugby Developing Player Programme. Harry (Year 12) has also been selected for the U18 Berkshire Rugby Squad.
Director of PE, Sport and Wellbeing, Simon Bradbury, commented, “I am really proud of our teams and our individual athletes, all of whom have shown a huge commitment and great talent in the development of their chosen sports. What a fantastic start to the new House sporting competitions as well with a great House cross competition taking place in September, won by Bensi-Enchill. Participation and competition have also been superb in House basketball, rugby and hockey.”
