On Tuesday 11th June students were delighted to take part in a masterclass with Will from the Zoielogic Dance Theatre.
The FuzzyLogic programme targets boys aged 11 to 15 and inspires male youth dance by “challenging perceptions of dance, who it’s for, when and how it’s shown”. After a technique class, students learnt ways to travel across the floor, rotating partner lifts, table top, different ledges on the body and partner freezes. Maure said “I really enjoyed working with a partner, discovering new contact movement.”
Fusing high tempo dance moves with the students own incredible enthusiasm and energy, the class challenged the boy’s strength, control and stamina, whilst helping them to appreciate how to create contact work. Neven said “It was a new and fun experience for me. I didn’t realise dance could be so physical.”
