Pre-Sixth boarder, Nikita enjoyed an exciting half term, earning a prestigious third place at the European Cadet Judo Cup in Berlin. The competition saw Nikita win five of his six fights with high determination and skill.
The sportsman commented on his success humbly: “After being placed third at such a high-level competition I feel very excited and proud of myself, however, there were and are lots of things to still work on. Due to a lack of concentration, I lost one of my fights, and my hopes of gold vanished away with the first loss. But I am still very happy that I managed to recover from the loss and show great fights afterwards”. His resilience shone through in true LP fashion.
Nikita commented: “I feel like Leighton Park (especially [School House Housemaster] Alex Leighton) has helped me a lot with my training, regularly helping me to get to the gym during games, booking my taxis for me, and supporting me in every other way possible. I am also very grateful to Danny Williams [Leighton Parks Judo teacher] as well, who helps me in training and analyses the fights with me after the competitions”.
