Our Year 11 GCSE Dance cohort were delighted to be working with choreographer, Ellie Stephenson, who has previously created pieces for our A Level Dancers and Dance Scholars. Ellie previously trained at Rambert Dance company and brings a breadth of contemporary expertise to the studio, sharing her skillset with our students.
For this workshop, carefully selected accompaniments allowed students to showcase their musicality. The class particularly enjoyed working with ‘Cross the Line’ by Audiomachine and Harry Lightfoot.
Ellie put the students through their paces, starting with a fast-paced warm-up before moving on to the delivery of technical phrases. The session was both demanding and rewarding, and students alongside Dance teacher, Beth Butler, are excited to continue refining this piece in preparation for the exam. The final performance will take place in the Collect on 20th March, as well as at Let’s Dance 2026!
India (Year 11) expressed: “This workshop really pushed me out of my comfort zone. It proved to me that I am capable of more challenging contact work.” Furthermore, Mackenzie’s confidence soared, explaining: “I couldn’t believe how much I achieved in such a short space of time.”
