Sustainability is one of our core Quaker values at Leighton Park, where we wholeheartedly embrace our responsibility to foster a greener, more eco-conscious society. Our commitment extends beyond talk; we are actively engaged in inspiring and educating LP students and staff to take meaningful actions in the aim of a sustainable future.
Recently, Leighton Park students have been taking action, Willow (Upper Sixth) began to advocate the need for increased paper recycling bins throughout the School. After discussion with Head of the Eco Group, Oliver Staines, a compelling campaign was launched.
The campaign commenced on 16th October 2023 with eye-catching campaign posters, placed throughout the School to reach a wider audience. Furthermore, a compelling and educational campaign video was created and presented to the entire School community during the students’ Collect, by the students’ Eco Group. The campaign resonated with staff and students, underlining the significance of environmental values.
The campaign has been an incredible success, recognised by all staff and students and the Eco Group were congratulated on their efforts with a meeting of cake and praise with the Head, Matthew Judd. We take pride in nurturing the leaders of tomorrow and campaigns such as these exemplify the values we hold in our community.
