Festive Generosity at Leighton Park

Thursday 7th December filled Leighton Park with a warm and festive spirit, as we hosted the Christmas Bake Sale and Christmas Jumper Day. Not only did the day bring sweet indulgences and cosy clothing to students, but it also extended a helping hand to those in need, with both events dedicated to charitable causes.

The charity Christmas Bake Sale was enjoyed by both staff and students, all on the lookout for a sweet treat! Each House (Cadbury, Tubman, Fox, and Bentsi-Enchill) set up shop in a different location with an enticing array of cakes and cookies waiting to be devoured in exchange for a charitable donation. The charities being supported were Parents And Children Together (PACT), The Cowshed, Daisy’s Dream and Alexander Devine. We await the totals raised, after a huge success of an event.

Simultaneously, students and staff pulled their best Christmas jumpers from the backs of their wardrobes in exchange for a £2 donation to Save The Children. Knitted reds, blues and greens filled the park with embroidered snowmen, snowflakes and Christmas messages, creating a vibrant and joyful array of knitwear.

Our students demonstrated a commendable embodiment of our all-important Quaker ethos and values showcasing their commitment to all the charitable causes. Everyone actively engaged in the strong commitment to community and to service through fundraising, inspiring positive change and awareness that they too can make a difference.
