Flour Power: The last of the First Round Heats in the Baking Battle

Leighton Park recently played host to Year 5’s from St Piran’s School as they participated in the very last of our First Round heats in our Super Chefs Competition.

The First Round of the Super Chefs Competition revolves around the art of cupcake baking and decorating, offering a platform for the budding chefs to exhibit their skills and creativity.

Each student from St. Piran’s brought their unique flair to the table, armed with an array of ideas and decorations to craft their masterpieces.

The competition concluded with the blind taste test; a panel of judges, made up of teachers and staff from Leighton Park, sampled each cupcake without knowing the identity of its creator and scored them based on taste, texture, and presentation, as well as teamwork and cleanliness.

The judges faced the arduous task of selecting the winning pair of cupcakes to advance to the final round. After much deliberation, two creations were chosen, earning their creators a coveted spot in the upcoming final. However, it was lovely to see that the spirit of camaraderie prevailed, as all participants celebrated each other’s achievements.

We’re looking forward to welcoming back Izzy and Grace for the Grand Final of Super Chefs in April, along with the Round One winners from Hemdean House, St Teresa’s Catholic Academy and Grazely Primary.
