Our Lower School choir was celebrated this weekend with a special award from the judges. Fryer Voices, a long standing vocal tradition at Leighton Park, is a choir composed of singers from Years 7 and 8 and their participation in the Woodley Festival is a first.
Kirsty Janusz, their vocal coach, commented on Sunday 5th March, “Fryer Voices did really well at the Woodley Festival this morning. It was quite an intimidating performance for them as there were three other choirs, which were bigger and had quite a few older members in (we were in the year 9 and under class) and a big hall and no microphones like we are used at LP! We were awarded a merit and medal for the Young Choirs Special Award. The adjudicator gave us some really encouraging comments and said they did really well for their first ever Festival performance!”
