Friday 23rd May saw the Girls’ Reading Town Athletics Championships hosted at a local school due to the Palmer Park Athletics stadium renovations and, like the boys on Wednesday, our girls came back with a haul of medals! In the Inter Girls competition Mia won Gold in both the 200m and long jump, Daisy won Gold in the high jump and Hermione Gold in the shot put. There were also Bronze medals for Sophia in the 800m and Chloe in the 1500m. In the Junior Girls there were Bronze medals for Isi in the Discus and Isla in the 1500m. In the U13 girls competition Nona won gold in the shot put narrowly missing out on the championship record by 3cm and Ellen won silver in the high jump. There were also notable performances from Alex in the 100m, Elisa in the 100m, Darcy and Ruby in the 200m and Isabella in the 300m.
Well done to all of the girls who represented LP and congratulations to those that will now represent Reading in the upcoming Berkshire Schools County Championships.
