On Friday 4th February, Leighton Park joined over 35 schools for the ISA London West Cross Country Championships. After a wet start, the clouds made way for a glorious, blue sky to welcome our runners.
In the team event, the U16 and U19 boys secured 3rd and 2nd, respectively. U19 runner, Louis Cook in Year 11, commented “At the start of the race we were all very nervous but that soon disappeared when the race started. We ran as a team which made the race ten times better!”
As well as their team successes, the group were delighted to celebrate those who placed in the top ten for their age category. Charlotte and Hamish (U16), alongside Mia, Nic, Seb, James and Louis (U19) have qualified for the national finals which are due to be held on Saturday 19th March at Worksop College, Nottinghamshire.
