Over an 8 kilometre course, OL Kirsty Walker cruised home in 29 minutes and 55 seconds to win the BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sports Cross Country Championships) in February, representing Loughborough University. She came in 31 seconds ahead of her team-mate, at a pace of 3.44 minutes per kilometre, giving Loughborough a definitive 1-2. This automatically means that Kirsty will be representing GB in the University World Championships. This is the first time in 18 years that Loughborough Women have won this event,.
At LP, we remember Kirsty’s dedication to sport and her goal to run at national and international level. She was last back on the Park inspiring students with her epic solo cycle ride across Europe.
